About

The ongoing demographic transitions constitute major social, economic and medical challenges. Longevity and ageing are inherently plural processes and therefore constitute a particularly fertile field of research for the humanities and social sciences. The objective of ILVV is to foster and support the joint development of approaches and methods around key issues in order to collectively improve knowledge while anchoring it at the very core of public debate.

The ILVV context: Ongoing demographic transitions pose major social, economic and medical challenges.

Objectives: The Institute of Longevity, Old Age and Ageing (ILVV) is a consortium of organizations (GIS) that was designed to encourage and support interdisciplinary scientific approaches in the Humanities and Social Sciences.

Missions : The Institute aims to frame and promote activities for the benefit of the people involved in thise field of research. This is to be achieved through four missions: mapping forces, highlighting and promoting research, connecting people, and fostering interaction to engage dialogue with civil society.
