The objectives of the ILVV’s Autumn School
- To create a multidisciplinary network of PhD students and early-career researchers in the field of ageing in the humanities and social sciences
- To present the issues and challenges of the field by focusing on the life paths, needs and expectations of individuals, in all their diversity.
- Raising researchers' awareness of conceptual and methodological knowledge and advances in different disciplines and themes within the field.
- Encourage formal and informal exchanges between researchers at the start of their careers and more advanced researchers.
- Deepen its own research by opening up to other themes and disciplines in the humanities and social sciences.
- Demonstrate the benefits of expanding collaborations.
- Strengthen the role of the humanities and social sciences in research in this field.
WHO IS THE AUTUMN SCHOOL FOR?
- PhD students and post-docs (defended 5 years ago or less),
- working (or having worked) on longevity, old ages or ageing, in a French research lab,
- with an approach drawn from the human and social sciences: anthropology, demography, sociology, economics, epidemiology, statistics, political science, history, geography, public health, public policy, law, new technologies, psychology, philosophy, etc.
- whatever the research theme (not limited to the structuring theme chosen as the main theme)
ILVV covers travel, accommodation and meals included in the programme.

Preparing and launching scientific
ILVV contributes to the organisation of various types of scientific events aimed at increasing multidisciplinarity.
- Participation in the organisation of regional and national multi-disciplinary scientific days / organisation of multi-disciplinary conferences, to showcase French research on ageing and promote future researchers and projects.
- Support for organisers of scientific events by covering the accommodation costs of a foreign speaker and/or covering the costs of one or two doctoral and post-doctoral students selected by the organisers.
- Support for PhD students and post-docs to attend scientific events, via calls for applications
